Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job:
The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of medical equipment and devices. This role involves ensuring that all biomedical equipment meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Biomedical Engineer will work closely with medical professionals, researchers, and manufacturers to improve healthcare delivery through the integration of advanced technologies.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Work under the direction of the Project Manager and Senior Biomedical Engineer to ensure all PPM, CM, and administrative activities comply with entities standards and requirements.
- Coordinate and perform the installation of medical equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately maintained.
- Manage on-site breakdown maintenance and repairs.
- Operate and manager various types of Test Equipment used in the calibration and maintenance of medical devices.
- Utilize Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems or equivalent for equipment management.
- Oversee the maintenance of Medical Equipment Spare Parts Management.
- Maintain and manage files such as ECRI, staff records, monthly technical reports, medical equipment installation reports, test equipment calibration certificates, MSDS, RO Water Analysis & Disinfection, Assets Inventory, Biomed. & Med. Gas Risk Assessment, End users training documents, Policies & Procedures of Biomedical Department and others.
- Supervise third-party engineers and technicians during maintenance and service calls for contracted medical equipment.
- Provide comprehensive training to end-users on the proper handling and operation of medical equipment.
- Ensure adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and standards pertinent to the role and implementing practices to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
Qualification & Experience :
- 1 to 3 years of relevant Experience in similar role.
- Experience in a major hospital on Critical Care equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (master’s degree preferred)
