The Medical Insurance Department is one of the core divisions of the company, responsible for handling individual and group health portfolios, client servicing, renewals, quotations, and insurer coordination under UAE’s evolving healthcare and insurance regulations.

Position Overview

The Assistant Manager – Medical Insurance Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of the medical insurance department, ensuring efficient quotation handling, policy issuance, renewals, and after-sales service.

The role requires a professional with strong technical knowledge of medical underwriting, insurer portals, and UAE health insurance regulations (DHA, DoH, and CBUAE). The candidate must be well-connected with insurer representatives, understand insurer appetites, and maintain smooth operational flow between the sales team, insurers, and clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management

  • Oversee daily medical operations including quotations, renewals, endorsements, and policy issuance.
  • Manage coordination between clients, insurers, and internal teams to ensure smooth processing.
  • Review all received data (TOBs, census lists, TLs, LR reports, utilization reports) for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs and CBUAE-mandated processes for brokerage operations.

Market & Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with medical insurers, TPAs, and underwriting teams.
  • Stay updated on insurer appetites, pricing trends, and underwriting requirements.
  • Secure competitive terms and turnaround times through effective negotiation and relationship management.
  • Coordinate with insurers on product updates, new plans, and market offerings.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with CBUAE, DHA, and DoH guidelines for health insurance brokerage activities.
  • Verify that all issued policies meet regulator standards and product mandates.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in compliance with data privacy (PDPL) and AML/CFT rules.
  • Support the preparation of audit reports, regulatory submissions, and compliance documentation.

Performance & Process Enhancement

  • Track and monitor KPIs related to medical operations (TAT, retention, conversion, errors, renewals).
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements or automation opportunities.
  • Provide operational support for integrating digital tools, portals, and automation systems.
  • Train and guide junior team members to ensure consistency and service excellence.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in medical insurance operations within a UAE-based insurance brokerage or insurer.
  • Strong knowledge of individual and group medical insurance, including underwriting, pricing, and renewals.
  • Hands-on experience using insurer and TPA portals (Oman Insurance, Sukoon, Orient, Daman, Takaful Emarat, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of insurer appetites, product structures, and plan types (Basic, Enhanced, SME, Corporate).
  • Well-connected in the UAE insurance market with active insurer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or Healthcare Administration (Professional certification preferred).
