Nutritional Assessment & Planning: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop personalized nutrition plans tailored to the needs of individuals with eating disorders.
Collaboration with Mental Health Professionals: Work closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists to provide integrated care and contribute to the overall treatment plan.
Patient Counseling & Support: Offer ongoing education, counseling, and support to patients and their families, helping them understand the role of nutrition in recovery and relapse prevention.
Monitoring & Adjustments: Regularly monitor patients’ progress, make adjustments to meal plans, and provide guidance to ensure nutritional stability throughout the recovery process.
Patient Education: Develop and deliver educational resources and workshops on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and the psychological aspects of eating disorders.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of patient progress, assessments, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and confidentiality standards.
Team Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, challenges, and adapt treatment approaches as needed.
Qualifications:
DHA License as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RD or equivalent).
Minimum of 6 years of experience working with patients suffering from eating disorders.
Proven experience collaborating with psychologists or mental health professionals in a clinical setting.
Strong understanding of the psychological aspects of eating disorders and how they impact nutritional behavior.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practice.
Familiarity with evidence-based practices in the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating behaviors.
