Job Description

A-Clinical Practice:

1.Diligently completes assigned responsibilities, while functioning within established hospital, division and EMS guidelines, standards and directives, under the immediate supervision of the EMS Station Supervisor.
2.Accountable for providing high quality patient care, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, based on a competent understanding of the patient / customer needs, within direction of medical oversight i.e. EMS head division and well- established policies, procedures and protocols.
3.Provides attentive patient care in a thorough, efficient and cost effective manner.
4.Maintains an awareness of the patient’s physical, medical and cultural needs at all times.
5.Maintains a working knowledge of current trends in EMS and new developments in the healthcare field.
6.Anticipates potential problems and responds to them appropriately.
7.Accountable for operating and maintaining EMS vehicles and equipment properly, to avoid damage or breakage.
8.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

B-Administration:

1.Eagerly exercises detailed attention to duty, while efficiently completing obligatory requirements.
2.Ensures EMS vehicles are in a constant state of readiness.
3.Consistently adheres to and implements EMS administrative and Medical Control directives.
4.Willingly completes administrative and other functions as assigned by the EMS Station Supervisor.
5.Actively participates in EMS staff meetings.
6.Performs other duties as assigned by the EMS division Head which are within the post-holder’s qualifications and capabilities

C-Education & Research:

1.Consistently attends skills maintenance programs to ensure professional proficiency.
2.Maintains professional licensure and required certifications.
3.Participates in the development and presentation of educational awareness programs.
4.Attempts to improve communications in English / Arabic.
5.Assists in the orientation and professional development of other EMS personnel.
6.Attends professional development courses and participates in professional research programs.
7.Attend all educational activities, in the EMS department.
8.Participate in all educational activities by presentation, and participation.

D-Quality:

1.Provides continuous feedback to improve working environment and patient care.
2.Continually strives to deliver a higher level of quality care.
3.Utilizes medical supplies properly, to avoid wastage.
4.Assists in situational problem solving and in the utilization of limited resources and supplies.
5.Anticipates ways to assist other staff members, while encouraging a cohesive teamwork approach in the workplace.

Education: Bachelor in Emergency Medical Services or Higher Degree
Experience: One (1) year experience as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic.
Language: Fluent in English. Arabic language skills are desirable.
Required Licenses:

-Basic Life Support (BLS)
-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
-Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
-Neonatal resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced life Support (PALS).
-Accredited EMS Licensure from Saudi Commission for health specialties DOT
-(Preferred): EMS Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS)
-Light Transportation Driving Licensing (preferable)
-60 degree or above in STEP English Exam (to be submitted onetime).
