Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and perform thorough physical examinations to diagnose urological conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, urinalysis, imaging, and biopsies
  • Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans for patients, which may include medications, minimally invasive procedures, or surgical interventions
  • Surgical Procedures: Perform surgical procedures when necessary, such as kidney stone removal, prostate surgery, bladder surgery, and vasectomy
  • Counseling: Provide patients with information about their conditions, treatment options, and potential side effects. Offer guidance on lifestyle changes and preventive measures
  • Monitoring and Follow-up: Monitor the progress of patients undergoing treatment, adjust treatment plans as needed, and conduct follow-up appointments to assess outcomes and provide ongoing care
  • Emergency Care: Respond to urological emergencies, such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and urological trauma, with timely and effective interventions
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical professionals, including primary care physicians, radiologists, oncologists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Research and Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in urology through continuing education and research. Contribute to medical knowledge by conducting research studies and publishing findings
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, diagnostic test results, treatment plans, and progress notes
  • Ethical and Legal Compliance: Adhere to medical ethics and legal regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a residency program in urology
  • State medical license and board certification in urology
  • Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion and empathy in patient care
  • Commitment to patient safety and ethical standards
  • Ability to work in a team-based healthcare environment
