Job Description
The Locum Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, treatment plans, and rehabilitation services to inpatients across various specialties, including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and critical care. The ideal candidate must be confident in managing diverse caseloads within an acute hospital setting and must be willing to cover or rotate in outpatient services if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality physiotherapy assessment and treatment for inpatient cases.
- Develop individualized rehabilitation plans tailored to each patient’s clinical needs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards.
- Contribute to discharge planning, patient education, and family communication.
- Ensure safe, evidence‑based practice aligned with King’s College Hospital clinical guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
- Provide support in outpatient physiotherapy services as needed, based on departmental requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent).
- DHA licence or eligibility as a Physiotherapist.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, with mandatory inpatient hospital experience.
- Experience in acute care, post-operative management, and rehabilitation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
- Willingness to rotate between inpatient and outpatient services if required.
